Lastly, how comfortable should I feel adding to and subtracting from the lore? I am rather confused about whether the Third Imperium allows the GM/Referee much allowance with its setting, or whether it is very rigid (ala Empire of the Petal Throne) in its approach. My Drinaxian Companion also includes the first 10 items on the list, plus lots of other stuff. I've heard the lore from the core book of GURPS Traveller is pretty dandy though, so should I pick that up too? However, how the heck to approach it? From Mongoose, there is no "core book" for the setting that I've found. I have read around on tvtropes and other places and I like the general pitch of the setting.
